I love supporting family-owned businesses and I find it equally important to support local companies. With more than 400 restaurants in 21 states, Jacksonville, Florida (my hometown) is the birthplace of Firehouse Subs. As a family with more than 200 years of firefighting heritage – brothers and former firefighters, Chris and Robin Sorensen founded Firehouse Subs over sixteen years ago.
I can honestly tell you that my family loves Firehouse Subs. My favorite sub? The Turkey Bacon Ranch combo on white bread with mustard and onions only, cheddar and sour cream potato chips and a cherry Coke. (Can you tell I’ve ordered that a few times?!) They only serve high quality meats, sliced daily and I love that the hot subs are all steamed to lock in the moisture. And for the kids – they get a free fire hat with their meal! Firehouse Subs isn’t just about great food, they also believe in community. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was founded in 2005 after Founders Chris and Robin Sorensen visited Mississippi to provide aid to Katrina victims. They wanted to be able to support first responders and help them save lives. To date, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $2 million in equipment and resources to fire departments, police, and EMTs in more than 200 communities served by Firehouse Subs.
I’m excited to represent Firehouse Subs at the upcoming SheCon Expo in Ft. Lauderdale this May. Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing more of their story, and my love for the Turkey Bacon Ranch with you. (Are you going to SheCon? If so, let me know – I’ve got some fun things in the works!)

I LOVE Firehouse Subs too. Since I got turned on to their subs cannot even go near another place for a sub. My favorite is the Italian on white no mustard,no tomato and no italian dressing with sour cream chips and a tea. Leland(my grandson) loves getting his Fireman hat when we go.
