TV Alert: Down Syndrome & Albert Pujols Family Foundation on 60 Minutes

My husband and I are major sports fans.  Although football is our favorite, you can find us many weekends watching baseball, basketball, golf and even racing (yes, it’s a sport).  Recently, we were interested to learn that St. Louis Cardinals baseball player, Albert Pujols also has a daughter with Down syndrome.  (Check out our daughter Molly’s story here.)

Over the last few weeks, I’ve enjoyed learning more about the Pujols Family Foundation.  Here’s a little about the foundation’s mission –

To promote awareness, provide hope and meet tangible needs for families and children who live with Down syndrome. To provide extraordinary experiences for children with disabilities and/or life threatening illnesses. To improve the standard of living and quality of life for impoverished children in the Dominican Republic through education, medical relief and tangible goods.

Tonight,  Albert Pujols along with his foundation will be featured on 60 Minutes at 7pm EST on CBS  (immediately following The Masters golf tournament).  Tune in and learn more about this baseball superstar and how he’s helping enrich the lives of children affected with Down syndrome.

Let me know what you think about the segment after it airs tonight!  I’ll be watching too!

I totally thought about you when this was on and they were showing the DS Prom. (BTW, that was a no expensive-spared event. They had it in an antique car museum in a rich part of STL). Albert does A LOT of events during baseball season with his foundation. I hope to get to volunteer for them once all 3 of my kids are in school.
