I’m a native Floridian. I’ve seen airboats take to the water all of my life, but I’ve never had the opportunity to experience it myself.
That all changed a few weeks ago when I was in Kissimmee, Florida for the Chimpanzee premiere – we spent the afternoon on the water with the folks at Boggy Creek Airboats. … and it was fantastic!
With two locations in the Kissimmee area, our group toured East Lake Tohopekaliga (or East Lake Toho, to the locals). Besides soaking up the scenery, an airboat is the perfect viewing spot for wildlife! Our guide, Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about the lake and showed us some of the alligators favorite hiding spots and magnificent wildlife too!
I couldn’t get over how incredibly smooth it was to glide across the water. I’m not sure why, but I really expected it to be a bumpy ride and I was completely wrong! It was such a great experience and offered a unique view of Florida. It is definitely something I want to do again.
Check out my Facebook page photo album for more pictures from my adventure! Here’s a short video from my ride along with Boggy Creek Airboats.
Have you ever been on an airboat ride? What did you think about it?!
