The 2012 Northeast Florida Buddy Walk takes place November 3 in  Jacksonville Beach.  Meant to raise awareness and show support for individuals with Down syndrome, there are over 250 walks held throughout the country each year.

As part of this year’s walk, we’ve formed “Team Molly” to show our pride and support for the little rock star that brightens our home.

Along with other families in our community, we’ll be hitting the sand for a one-mile fun walk along the oceanfront.  The day concludes with a fantastic carnival, entertainment and food.  It’s a fantastic way to spend the day as a family celebrating others. (Last year’s event was freakishly cold..even for Florida.)

This will be the third year we’ve participated in the walk.  It’s an emotional and positive day… and one filled with great pride.  There’s nothing better than seeing children with Down syndrome surrounded by their peers and family celebrating their accomplishments and that one extra (awesome) chromosome!

If you’d like to show your support, visit the official Team Molly Buddy Walk page.  All monies raised go directly to the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville providing services and programs for individuals in the Northeast Florida area.

Visit BuddyWalk.org to find a Buddy Walk event in your area!  I promise you’ll be inspired and have a fun day too!

I’m so sorry I won’t make it to the Buddy Walk, prior commitment, but will make a donation

I’m so jealous that you have an awesome community…I have no desire to do our Buddy Walk this year…it’s just not good vibes…but I know when Brooke is older we’ll do it regardless….
