I’m a native Floridian and I love everything about seafood. This past week, we packed up the girls and hit the road for Lobsterfest at our local Red Lobster restaurant. Bring on the cheddar garlic biscuits and the lobster!
There are nine Lobsterfest dishes on the menu this year. Some of the highlights include –
Wood-Grilled Lobster & Tacos – A wood-grilled split Maine lobster tail and three lobster-and-shrimp tacos with cilantro slaw, fresh pico de gallo and spicy ranch sauce
Maine Lobster & Shrimp Trio – A wood-grilled Maine lobster tail, garlic-grilled shrimp, and lobster-and-shrimp mac ‘n’ cheese with a white Cheddar and bacon sauce, topped with Parmesan crumbs. Served with wild rice pilaf.
Lobster Lover’s Dream – A succulent rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, roasted and served with lobster and shrimp linguini Alfredo.
Needless to say, it was a tough decision! Ultimately, I went with the Wood-Grilled Lobster and Tacos (pictured above)- they were delicious! Paired with rice, the spicy ranch sauce in the soft tacos was the perfect kick of extra flavor. And, of course, the lobster was great too – extra melted butter for me please.
My husband went with the Maine Lobster & Shrimp (pictured below). It’s hard to go wrong when you pair shrimp, lobster and mac/cheese together on a plate. And when you add garlic-grilled shrimp into the mix – it’s the ultimate plate! He said it was fantastic.. so much so, that I didn’t even get to sample it!
Now through April 14th, Red Lobster is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Lobsterfest with a variety of new and classic lobster entrées. Hurry and plan your visit – you don’t want to miss the celebration.. and the great food!
