Birthday Girl: Molly Is Three! #downsyndrome

by Carrie with Children with 8 comments

Yesterday, we celebrated our silly Molly with a lot of cake and laughter as she turned three-years old.  In the last month or two, it seems like she has grown up so quickly.  She’s following directions well and her speech is advancing - she’s no longer a baby.

We had a great day surrounded by our family – there was a lot of squealing and playing from six cousins all under the same roof.  It’s safe to say that they all slept really well last night after playing so much yesterday.

I’m sure some may disagree, but today was really what birthdays are all about – lots of food, love and family.  Nothing wild and crazy, no wild parties that cost a fortune – just celebrating the success of another year.  And for Molly, this past year she’s made huge strides.

At the recommendation of her occupational therapist, we bought Molly some fun matching toys and a Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head. However, I think her most favorite toy of the day was the Little Tikes adjustable indoor basketball hoop.  Who knew a three-year old little girl could love it so much?!

I am excited for Molly as she begins another year.  She’s accomplished so much already and I know this year is going to be just as exciting… for her and our entire family!

Happy Birthday Molly!
