Back To The Real World…

Things have been quiet here on the site for the last week, but don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. It has been anything but quiet around my house the past sixteen days. The girls returned to school today and the ‘real world’ is calling again.

Here’s a quick recap of our recent shenanigans –

Cruising the Fun Ship

We spent six awesome nights sailing on the Carnival Breeze – visiting Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Key West. We even saw one of my favorite country bands – Lady Antebellum, perform on the ship (more on that story later – promise). The girls loved cruising again and we all enjoyed the much-needed family time.

Relax, Eat, Sleep, Repeat

The week of Thanksgiving felt like a full-on feast. I know I’m not alone, but the holidays makes me want to eat everything in sight. We celebrated Thanksgiving with both sides of our families, the girls loved playing with their cousins and staying up past bedtime.

There was plenty of relaxing too. A few days, Maggie just asked if we could stay in our pajamas all day – fine by me! We put up our Christmas tree, made sugar cookies and we snuggled on the couch watching our favorite movies.

Back To The Real World

This morning when my alarm clock went off, I awoke to both girls wide awake and playing in the living room. They were excited to go back to school today and see their friends. It was like the first day of school all over again.

And just like any mom, I loved making memories with my girls the past few weeks, but I’m enjoying a quiet house this morning. And the good news – in three weeks, it will be Christmas break and we’ll get to start the fun all over again!

How was your Thanksgiving break?
