Known for its African cuisine, Sanaa is a table-service restaurant and reservations are recommended. The restaurant overlooks the wildlife preserve at the resort, with giraffes, zebras and more right outside the window. How’s that for a great dinner view?
I was excited to step outside of my comfort zone and try some new dishes. The Naan bread appetizer was impressive featuring accompaniments such as coriander chutney, roasted red bell pepper hummus, garlic pickle and mango chutney – to name a few. Since we had a large group, we were able to taste quite many of the pairings – some spicy, some more mild.
I’d heard so many people rave about Sanaa’s Butter Chicken that I couldn’t wait to give it a taste. And it did not disappoint. Made with numerous spices and plenty of sauce, Butter Chicken is paired with white rice. I found myself pouring the gravy onto my rice, long after I was done eating the chicken.
Not too spicy, Butter Chicken is consider to be “the” dish at Sanaa. I just wish I could figure out how to make it at home because I’ve been craving it ever since our lunch.
Also on the menu at Sanaa – Tandoori shrimp, Tandoori chicken, New York strip steak and quite a variety of vegetarian dishes too.
Dine with an Animal Specialist
Sanaa offers a unique dining experience for those looking for an educational and fun treat at lunch. The ‘Dine with Animal Specialists’ experience is limited to 12 guests and features a four-course meal alongside one of Disney’s animal specialists.
It sounds like a great educational opportunity and a fun way to learn about what it takes to care for the animals at the resort and at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park too. Plus, you’re getting a great meal too!
I’m excited to return to Sanaa again soon with my family. I can’t wait to see my girls’ eyes light up as they watch the zebras and giraffes outside the windows.. and I’m ready for a few more servings of Butter Chicken too!
Have you dined at Sanna with your family?
