About
Hi – I’m Carrie McLaren. After seven years as a travel public relations professional in Jacksonville, Florida, I’m now full-time mom to a silly toddler named Maggie and precious Molly (born with Down syndrome). What started as a way to share Molly’s story with friends and family quickly became something much more in September 2010. I renewed my passion for writing and realized I loved being part of an online community.

I am a member of the Rug Doctor Roundtable, a member of the Scrubbing Bubbles Circle of Influencers, a Kolcraft Mom and a Windows Champions blogger. Some of my past partnerships include General Motors Southeast, Baby Einstein, Shutterfly, Maclaren and Rubbermaid.
I am a guest columnist for the Florida Times-Union where I write about parenting, local issues and my role as a special needs mom. I’m also the VISIT FLORIDA Family Insider, sharing my experiences with visitors planning their vacations to the Sunshine State. I was recently named a social media trendsetter in the July 2012 issue of Jacksonville Magazine.

When I’m not playing with my sweet babies or feeding my social media addiction, I think of myself as a foodie-in-training (my husband is the better cook), I’m an avid sports fan and I love all things Disney! I was a dancer for sixteen years, so I also have a special place in my heart for the performing arts.
Maggie (affectionately known as Tootie) loves school, puzzles, coloring books and sunglasses. She also loves Disney Junior’s Doc McStuffins and dressing like a princess.
Molly loves laughing, playing with her sister and chasing Penny the pup’s tail. My little, tiny Toot may have an extra chromosome (aka Down syndrome), but it’s not holding her back! When she’s not running through the house, she can be found saying “Dada”…a lot.
