My Personal Goal for Monday…Laundry

by Carrie with Children with 11 comments

Growing up, my dad didn’t like for us to use the word “hate” he said it was too strong of a word.  Now, that I’m an “adult” – I understand and agree with him.   However….  there is one thing I hate…  and that’s doing the laundry. I hate every part of the process, especially putting the clean clothes away.  I’d rather just let them sit on the dresser and take them as needed.  That’s why I’ve decided to share my goal of the day with you.

Today, my goal is to do ALL of the laundry – in one day.  That’s right, friends – four loads of laundry sorted, washed, folded AND put away. I’m sharing my goal with you in hopes that it will motivate me to complete the task.  If I tell you about it, I *have* to do it.  I can’t let you down!  My new Twitter friend From High Heels to Sneakers is joining in on the challenge too!

Do you think I can do it?  Is four loads of laundry in one day impossible?  I think so, but we’ll see!  So, if you need me today – here’s where you can find me!   (Please excuse the clutter!)

I loathe laundry. Loathe it. Good luck.

I wish you the best of luck! 4 loads isn't that much so it should be ok… now come on over to my house and tackle the 5+ loads that I have!

I agree …. leave it and take what you want! Putting it away is a lot of work! So much that I've had a basket of just my stuff sitting there for close to 2 weeks now!

ugh, laundry sucks! esp since I have to go all the way down to the basement to do it! good luck w/that & I hope you get it all done haha

I do about 3 loads a day personally, so it can be done, Beavis.

I have that to do today as well

Okay…Lets Team Up! I have a crap load of laundry to do too! I'll post a blog with a little linky love to you and then we will both be obligated to it!

Yay! I'm glad I've motivated you too! A little peer pressure always does me good when it comes to tackling a project!

I'll update mine to include a link to your post when you finish it 🙂

Your Dad says he still does not like for you to use that strong work "hate" when referring to such a problem with a very simple solution. the solution is to just wear dirty clothes. If you changed less often there are fewer dirty clothes to wash.

I have taught my children not to say the H word, too. But, I do "hate" laundry. It's only getting worse, like dust bunnies. I hope you get thru it all!! If you do, tell me how you did it! LOL

    Following you from Twittermoms

So did you do it???? I am a slob, but I love doing laundry because it looks like I accomplished a lot, but in reality in between the loads you can sit down and do "nothing" for 50 minutes!!!! So at the end of the day, everyone's clothes are clean and you only had to be on your feet for about 20 minutes total!

Kimi — You rock! LOL You always have such a great way of putting things in perspective! 🙂 Yes, I did it! I felt like a rockstar after it was done, too!
