It’s Thanksgiving Week and I’m still trying to finalize the menu for Thursday’s big meal. We are hosting family at our house this year and I want to make sure everything is perfect (and delicious)!
We always end up with way too much food, but it’s hard to leave a dish out – they are all somebody’s favorite! (Of course, mine is the Southern cornbread dressing.) We are trying something a little new this year – we are delegating dishes to others, so we aren’t cooking the entire meal ourselves.
This year, I’m also really trying to get better at using coupons. I’m good at it, but there is definitely room for improvement! I sat down last night to work on my grocery list, then checked out all the new coupons from today’s paper. I’m not lying when I tell you that it was a little overwhelming. Next up, beating the crowds to the grocery store! Last year, I had to go to three different stores before I found the rolls I was looking to buy. I guess that’s punishment for waiting until the last minute!
I’m still a rookie at all of this stuff! What works best for you when planning a big meal? Are you a list maker or do you just wing it? Do you delegate dishes to others or play the role of master chef?

Oh, I'm a total list maker. I have all our dishes up on our new chalkboard pantry doors, and will just go from there 🙂
Good luck!

I love lists. I will usually make the same lists over and over. We are not hosting Thanksgiving but always bring a dish to my Grandma's. She only usually does the turkey and everyone brings something.

I am a failure at lists. I try but never stick to them, lol.
