For those playing catchup, here’s part one recapping our visit to Nashville this past weekend.  The first half of our 26 hours in Nashville involved an amazing Southern lunch and a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame.  The second half of our trip was all about Garth Brooks!  We got a tour of the Sirius/XM Radio Nashville studios and then made our way to the concert!

I have friends in low places (get it? Garth reference?)…  my dear friend Producer J works at Sirius/XM Radio in Nashville and graciously invited us to stop by and visit the studios.  We are Sirius/XM subscribers and big fans of channel Highway 16.  Every Friday afternoon is the Highway Hot 30 Live Countdown show with Storme Warren and we got to sit in for the live recording.  This week’s show was all about Garth-mania and little did we know that we’d be in on the fun and get interviewed on live radio!  As Storme joked – it was our turn to “entertain America” for two minutes.  He asked me about my love affair with Garth, my favorite Garth concerts (this show was number eight!) and we even got to introduce a song on the air…and we forgot the name of it 🙂   I’m so annoyed that I didn’t take any pictures while we were there! (What was I thinking?!)

After a brief stop at the hotel, we made our way to the arena for the concert. I’m not even sure how to describe it to you, so I’ll just tell you that it was even bigger and better than I expected it to be.  I should also tell you that I cried…a lot.  It was that awesome. Rumor has it that Garth will set out on tour again around 2014-15 once his children are grown.  I’ve already told my husband that I’ll be there – no matter the place or time!  I hope you enjoyed my tales of my 26-hour vacation!
