Yesterday, I took the girls on an outing to meet Daddy for lunch. Bob Evans Restaurants are new to our area, it was our first experience with them and we had a great visit. If you recall from my New Year’s resolutions post, I want to eat healthier, so when I was given the opportunity to try out their new Fit from the Farm menu, I jumped at the chance.
Even though it was lunch time, I couldn’t resist and ordered the grilled salmon fillet from the Fit from the Farm dinner menu. It was served with a plain baked potato and steamed broccoli. And sense I’m being truthful, I have to tell you that I really dislike broccoli (not theirs in particular, just broccoli in general) – so I substituted onion peels instead. I know, not healthy – but I just cannot do broccoli and the onion peels were calling my name! (Baby steps toward healthy eating!) It was a very filling lunch and a great portion size too.
Although I wish there was a little more variety in choices, this menu makes it easy to eat healthy allowing you to choose from breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime of the day. Not a single menu item is over 650 calories and all have 0g trans fat and no MSG.
Some of the other menu items include –
- Blueberry Banana French Toast
- Apple Cranberry Spinach Salad
- Chicken, Spinach and Tomato Pasta
- Potato Crusted Flounder
- Soup and Side combo – with choice of three different soups!
It was tempting to try and order something off the regular menu (particularly the pot roast sandwich), I’m glad with my healthy choice. While, I’m still learning to eat healthy – the Fit from the Farm menu makes it easier to eat out and still have a delicious meal.
Have you tried the new Fit from the Farm menu at Bob Evans? If so…what did you order?
