My Most Memorable Mother’s Day Courtesy of My Cat

Is there a particular Mother’s Day that stands out as one of your favorites?  This is going to sound crazy…but I’m guessing you’ve come to expect that from me.  My most memorable Mother’s Day was long before my girls were born…it was all courtesy of my cat, Jack… kind of.

You see, one Mother’s Day morning a few years before my babies were born, Jack left me a card and flowers thanking me for taking care of him for so many years.  I’m not even ashamed to tell you that it made me cry.  The card had a note with it telling me I was a great mommy to him and he thanked me for feeding him good treats!  Ha!   The handwriting on the card was even jagged and crooked (dare I say…cat-scratchy?!)  like Jack actually wrote it himself.

In reality, it was just my husband being funny…but it was so thoughtful and sweet too.  It reminded me that even if I didn’t have kids (yet), I was still a mom to my handsome, little Jack.  I loved that my husband cared enough to think outside of the box and do something special for me.  Isn’t it cool how something so small can have such a great impact on a person?  I guess it also goes to show that I’m easily entertained.  The perfect Mother’s Day  for me doesn’t have to involve expensive and extravagant things – it’s really the thought that counts.  Years later, we still laugh about the time Jack left me a Mother’s Day gift.

What’s your most memorable Mother’s Day?  What did someone do for you that was special?

I love Tiny Prints too! I ordered my Valentine’s Day cards and my business cards from they – both turned out great!

We used to do the same things with our dogs. We still call them our first children!
