My mom and dad and almost all of my extended family lives in Alabama. My parents are alumni of the University of Alabama and play me any song about Alabama and I’ll probably cry. With that said, the state of Alabama is close to my heart and I’ve been devastated to see the destruction of the recent tornadoes that moved through the South last week. While my family isn’t in the affected areas – thousands of Alabamians haven’t been as fortunate.
If you’ll recall, my post from a few weeks ago introduced you to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and the great work they’ve done for communities experiences experiencing natural disasters in their community. Well, I’m proud to tell you that the foundation is in action right now in Alabama.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation disaster relief team packed up the FIRE-1 bus over the weekend and made their way to the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham areas to feed close to 10,000 first responders and survivors of the devastating tornadoes. Their team will be there throughout the week offering food and assistance to those who need it the most.
Want to show your support? Join me in donating to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. You can also now donate each time you dine at a Firehouse Subs location by having the cashier “round up” your total to donate the difference to the Foundation.
Throughout this next week, stay tuned to the Firehouse Subs Facebook page and follow them on Twitter for photos and to follow along on their journey.
