The Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011 begin today in Athens, Greece.  Over 7,500 athletes from 185 nations will compete in 22 Olympic-style sports through July 4th.

This afternoon, the Opening Ceremonies airs on ESPN3.com at 1pm EST.  I’m excited to watch the celebration and see the parade of athletes from across the world. Vanessa Williams serves as host of the event and Stevie Wonder will be performing live during the ceremony – how cool is that?!
