I realized over the weekend that I never posted a recap on our trip to Tampa! (Shame on me!) We had a great time on our family getaway…but let me tell you, traveling with an infant and a 2 1/2 year old is hard work. We managed to see and do a lot during our four days away from home! We made our first visit to IKEA (it’s heaven on Earth), visited friends that lived in the area, went to a Rays/Rangers Major League Baseball game and even visited the Florida Aquarium too!
Our first experience at IKEA was amazing. Let me just say that I am ready to redecorate my entire house. I think I took more pictures of IKEA rooms than I did of our entire vacation. There were just too many beautiful things in there! I’ll keep my fingers crossed we win the lottery! Aren’t these sample kid’s rooms precious?!
Sadly, I didn’t get to see much of the Tampa Bay Rays/Texas Rangers baseball game, I was busy entertaining Maggie. We did manage to occupy her for a few innings with popcorn! Luckily, the baseball stadium has a roof, because there was a pretty nasty storm while we were there. We were nice and dry inside though! Here’s the view from our seats!
The Florida Aquarium was so fun! Our friends that live in the Tampa have annual passes, so they joined us and I was glad they did because the aquarium is big! We spent a lot of time in the large tank room and even caught part of the dive talk presentation. They have a huge splash park outside too – but Maggie was being a typical two-year old, so we didn’t get to play. It looked fun though!
So that was the short version of our trip! I left out the fun part about getting two children to bed at a decent hour in a hotel room. Wow! It’s a lot harder than you would expect! I’ll share that story another day!

A Mommy in the City
Yay for Tampa!!!! So glad you had so much fun there. I love that Ikea too. It’s fairly new and was a big deal when Tampa got it. Some of my favorite places in Tampa are Ybor City (they have amazing restaurants), South Tampa (Hyde Park has great shopping, so does International Plaza), and Busch Gardens is really fun too!

Good to know that the IKEA was new! It didn’t seem like it’s been around all that long. Maybe we’ll make it back to go to Busch Gardens when it’s not so hot outside 🙂
Colleen
Hey we’ve been there LOL! That would be because we use to live on that side of FL once. Yes traveling with small children can be trying. Glad you had a great time!

Hi Colleen! It’s really a fun area, we had a great time exploring!
Kimi
So great to see you guys and finally meet the girls!!! Think how much more easy and fun it will be to have another visit when they’re a bit older 🙂 You are brave for trying! Chuck and I just don’t do it (except for the Seminoles of course!)

We had a great time with you all, Kimi! Thanks for feeding us dinner and going to the aquarium with us too! It was a great trip, but I’m glad to have both girls back to their usual routines! 🙂
