Last week’s trip to BlogHer’11 was my third trip to sunny California and my first time in San Diego. This Florida girl was in heaven soaking up the cooler temperatures and little humidity during the day and almost chilly weather at night.
The most memorable part of my visit to San Diego was the sunset sail cruise I took with some of my fellow Windows Champions bloggers and SailSanDiego.com
With Captain Tim as our sailboat captain, we spent two hours in the San Diego Bay seeing the sites of the city, hanging out with some fun bloggers and enjoying a spectacular sunset. While my husband owns a skiing/wakeboarding boat, this was my first time on a real, live sailboat! It was a little intimating to hear Captain Tim go down the list of “do’s and don’ts” for being on a sailboat, but as soon as we set sail – all my fears were gone. It was too beautiful to even worry about it!
The sunset sail was the perfect way to end a fantastic weekend and experience a beautiful city from a new vantage point. I’d recommend anyone visiting San Diego to explore the city via water with SailSanDiego.com – and ask for Captain Tim!
Have you ever been on a sailboat? Are you a newbie or an experienced sailor?! Tell me your experiences!

Wow! I didn’t realize you were doing this cruise during BlogHer! What fun!
I have been on a sailboat, once. It was actually a sailboat race from Long Beach to Catalina Island…so much fun! Our sailboat was only 22 feet long…very small!
Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise!

Nancy – it was so neat! I loved every minute of it! A sailboat race sounds fun but kinda stressful too! I bet the view was fantastic though! Hope you are doing well! xoxoxo

Your pictures are amazing. Sounds like a fun time and glad you enjoyed it. I am not sure I would have survived, I get sea sick. =(

I was a little nervous about getting seasick before I got on the boat – but once we were out on the water, I was totally fine! It was fun!
