Digital Mom Handbook – A “Must Read” *Review/Giveaway*

Whether it’s serving as spokespersons for Scrubbing Bubbles, Energizer, T.J.Maxx/Marshall’s and Tide (just to name a few…there are many others), Audrey McClelland of MomGenerations.com and Colleen Padilla of ClassyMommy.com know a thing or two about creating successful social media careers and finding a “middle ground” as a work at home mom.

Together, Audrey and Colleen have written the Digital Mom Handbook, sharing tips, tricks and tons of helpful information for digital moms.

I read my copy of the Digital Mom Handbook on my flight to San Diego for BlogHer’11.  I found myself taking notes and highlighting so many great tips throughout the book.  This book serves as a great reference guide – for inspiration, education and setting the path for one’s own success.  It’s a great handbook for any social media mom – newbies and veterans.

Whether you are a blogger that writes for fun or for the hopes of a turning into a career – the Digital Mom Handbook is a “must read”. The book is centered around seven, fantastic steps on how to find success in the digital world –

  1. Find your passion.
  2. Hang a digital “shingle” and start typing.
  3. Find your tribe.
  4. Make opportunity knock and learn how to answer that door.
  5. Manage the Benjamins.
  6. Don’t forget the children!
  7. Live happily ever after by living your values.

As a former PR professional, I really enjoyed step four – all about finding opportunity and answering the door.  I think this chapter provides great insight on the PR/Blogger relationship.  Step five (Manage the Benjamins) was also of great interest to me – the world of online monetization is huge,  it was great to learn about the different areas.

One lucky reader is going to win their own copy of the Digital Mom Handbook!

Sounds like an amazing book! I really like all the steps! Maybe there should be a ‘Don’t forget the husband!’ chapter in there as well! :p

Probably the very first – finding passion – is the one that interests me the most! I’m still searching for it!

I think that I’d just start with the first one and go through each of them! I believe that there will be enough information in there that I don’t know combined with that I do know that it’d would be helpful.

I like the managing the benjamins.
