Ahoy mateys!  Did you know that today is  “Talk Like a Pirate Day“?!   Maggie is always walking around the house yelling “Ahoy” and “Aye! Aye! Mama”and then she salutes me just like I’m a ship captain….so cute!  I think I need to get her a pirate costume!

The folks at Disney Junior and Disney FamilyFun Magazine, home of “Jake and The Neverland Pirates” want to help you celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day in style with these great family-friendly activities. 

Check out this great “Jake” inspired and affordable pirate costume – perfect for Talk Like A Pirate Day and also Halloween….it’s less than a month away!  I wonder if I can get my husband to be a pirate this year… maybe?!

I also love this cute idea of a Shipshape snack for a healthy treat, using tuna or egg salad and cheese for the ship sails. I’d have to substitute the red pepper as a boat – I’m not a big fan of those! (Any ideas of what I could use instead?)

Our day is already off to a great start in celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day – we watched a marathon of Jake and the Neverland Pirates this morning!  Are you celebrating today?
