This past week, I had the opportunity to attend a pre-grand opening event for the Seasons 52 restaurant opening in Jacksonville. With only 20 locations across the country, this was my first experience dining with them…and I was impressed!
Our hosts for the evening, Master Sommelier George Miliotes and Senior Director of Culinary, Clifford Pleau presented us with an evening of fine dining and a sampling of wine pairings for the seven course meal.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that their seasonally inspired cooking features every dish to be under 475 calories. Chef Pleau told us that we wouldn’t find a stick of butter in the building! And I know what you are thinking….no butter? There was no need for butter – each dish was beautifully plated and delicious. In regards to the name, Seasons 52 – the menu changes four times a year with the seasons and seasonal specials are updated weekly.
The salad (pictured above) featured mushrooms ….I don’t even like mushrooms and I cleaned my plate. That’s how much I loved it! I was also excited to sample quail for the first time. The only item of the night that I could not get myself to try? The Brussel sprouts! (Did you know they grow on a stalk? Me either!)
And the desserts? Wow! The folks at Seasons 52 refer to them as Mini Indulgences…and they are right! Served in mini shot glasses, there were eight flavors to choose from – I chose the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse but also sampled the Red Velvet Cake and the Key Lime Pie – each of them delicious.
I’m excited to take my husband to Seasons 52 very soon. I’m thinking this may be our new “special occasion” date night spot! Check out more pictures from my night at Seasons 52 on the Carrie with Children Facebook page!

Thanks for the review. The calorie count is good to know. This looks like a place I will put on my to do list. The dessert concept is interesting. They look delicious. Do they also limit the calories in the dessert too!

You should certainly put it on your “to do” list – it’s worth it! The desserts were really fantastic and from my understanding, they also limit the calories there too!

Ahhhh, you have officially made me very hungry. I happen to love salmon, sea scallops and even Brussels sprouts (I knew about the stalks because I’ve tried to grow them in my garden). Happy squirrels – sad mom.

Salmon and scallops are my favorite seafood – so that dish ranked high on my list of favorites! Too funny that the squirrels ate your Brussel sprouts… sad for you though!
