If you’ll recall, one of my goals for 2012 was to introduce more sign language to Maggie and Molly. We are big fans of the Signing Times DVD featuring Rachel Coleman, so when I learned about the new Potty Time DVD – I knew my girls would love it too! And, gosh was I right! Maggie asks to watch this DVD about three times a day….now if I could just get her to use the potty!
The Potty Time DVD teaches children helpful signs to learn about the potty – to listen to their bodies, stop what they are doing to do to the potty, celebrate success and deal with accidents in a positive way. Some of the signs featured in this DVD include – potty, amazing, body, diaper, help, please and Maggie’s favorite “I love you”.
We haven’t reached the potty training stage with Molly yet (we’ve got another year or so), but I think this DVD will be a great help in explaining the potty training process and let her see that it’s a positive experience. However, I do wish it featured some children with special needs! (Always good for Molly to see other kids “like” her…and for Maggie too!)
The 30-minute Potty Time DVD also includes a separate CD featuring nine potty training songs. Trust me, these songs are catchy – you’ll enjoy the CD too! I find myself signing the songs throughout the day!
Just like the many other Signing Time DVDs we own, I think it’s safe to say that the Potty Time DVD will continue to be on our regular rotation of shows. Maggie is picking up signs so quickly these days and I think Molly is starting to catch on too! This DVD is going to be a huge help in transitioning us into the potty training phase!

I think Potty Time is a great CD. I have to do my review on it and I can’t wait to share it with my grand kids. As a professional signer I love how they added the signing language to their CD. Great idea!
