Disney’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe – A Unique Dining Experience #DisneyGlobalEvent

The 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Disney Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Walt Disney World.  Last month, I was excited to introduce a few of my blogging friends to this great restaurant while we were in town for the movie premiere of Chimpanzee.

Disney's 50's Prime Time Cafe

You know you’ve stepped back in time the moment you walk in the door at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe.  With a 50’s theme, you’ve entered Mom’s house and she’s in the back cooking up your favorite dishes.  I especially love that when your table is ready, the hostess yells out “Smith kids… it’s time to eat!” (Or whatever your last name happens to be.)

If you’re lucky, you’ll get a table with a television where you can watch clips from classic shows…and even a few Disney videos too!

Our waitress Janice was quick to lay down the rules at Mom’s house – mind your manners, eat your vegetables, no games (cell phones) and elbows off the table.  She was a hoot and at times we weren’t sure if she was really mad at us or not.  Of course, in true Disney style – it’s all in good fun and part of the experience.

The food at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe features family favorites like fried chicken, meatloaf, olive-oil poached salmon, chicken pot pie and my personal favorite Mom’s old fashioned pot roast.  After our long day at the parks, it was nice to have true comfort food for dinner!

Our waitress, Janice, came across as a tough gal – but in the end, we had her telling us stories about her admiration for Dr. Jane Goodall and we told her all about our blogs. (Just in case she’s reading… Hi Janice!)

I’m so thankful to have shared this great dinner with my new blogging friends, Lolli from BetterInBulk.net, Caryn from RockinMama.net, Liz from ANutInANutshell.com and Sara from MommaFindings.com.

With all the excitement of our busy trip surrounding the premiere of Chimpanzee, dinner at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe was the perfect way to end our fun-filled day at Walt Disney World.  We made some fantastic memories throughout our trip and our dinner together was no exception.   (Thanks to Lolli at BetterInBulk.net for the great pictures!)

If you are looking for a unique dining experience on your Disney World vacation, I’d highly recommend the 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Disney Hollywood Studios.   Be sure and ask for Janice as your waitress, but remember mind your manners, no games and no elbows on the table!

Too funny! We love 50’s Prime Time Cafe, I always get the pot roast too since I can’t make it at home (Heath doesn’t like it, boo!)

    What a great picture!

That pot roast is the best! Mom knows how to cook it right 🙂 (And boo to Heath for not liking it!)

Okay I’ve found the next restaurant to eat at when we go back to Disney. I have never been to Hollywood Studios also, so next time my daughter asks if there is anyplace you’d like to eat while at Disney World, I’m going to say 50’s Prime Time Cafe.

I so wish I would have seen this place to eat. Me and Tricia found a cool spot to eat a burger and fries but your spot looks cooler!
