This past Saturday was Molly’s second birthday. (I’ll have a full birthday party recap for you tomorrow.) I was looking at old pictures tonight and realized that we’ve had some pretty fun cakes over the years – pretty and delicious!
Here’s Molly’s birthday cake from this weekend’s Elmo themed party! It was all chocolate in the middle.. and delicious!
My 30th birthday was just a few weeks after Maggie was born, so “she” got me a cake to celebrate the big 3-0. Once again, it was all chocolate… and delicious! (I’m sensing a theme already!) I particularly liked the fun candles.
So, to return the favor… for my husband’s next birthday, Maggie got Daddy a cake! Since we love the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars, they decorated it with the team’s logo! (Once again, all chocolate!)
And finally, my favorite cake of all… our wedding cake! The turquoise ribbons on the cake, matched the turquoise ribbon that was on my dress. We comprised on this cake and had it half vanilla cake and the other half chocolate. It was delicious and somehow we had tons of leftover cake, so my coworkers enjoyed it the next week while I was on my honeymoon!
And while I normally love making cupcakes and smaller cakes for celebrations, sometimes you just can’t go wrong with letting the professionals take over! A local bakery, Desserts First made all of the cakes in this post – they’ve been my “go to” bakery for years!
What kind of themed cakes have you had over the years?
