Now that summer is almost over and families are wrapping up their vacations, we are just beginning to plan our big trip! Our Walt Disney World Seasonal Passes are blacked out during a majority of the summer months, but we’ve only got a few weeks left before we can go see Mickey and Minnie!
During part of our upcoming stay, we are returning to Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. We first stayed at this property in January 2012 and loved the fantastic, family-friendly atmosphere and as sports lovers, we fell in love with the decor!
Considered a value resort, the property has five different themed areas – Home Run Hotel, Hoops Hotel, Touchdown!, Surfs Up! and Center Court. Because we are big football fans, when we checked into the resort, we asked (nicely) for a room in the Touchdown! area and they were able to accommodate our request!
The standard room at the All-Star Sports resort offers two double beds, a small table and chairs and a mini-fridge. We were able to save a little money by bringing our own breakfast foods. Even though there isn’t a microwave in the room, they are available in the food court area.
As like the other value resorts, the All-Star Sports Resort has exterior rooms, so I was initially concerned about the noise level. However, I was happy to learn that there are enforced quiet hours, so the noise was never an issue! We were well rested each morning ready for the parks!
The End Zone food court was large and had the usual foods – burgers, chicken, pizza and my favorite… the Rice Krispies Mickey Mouse shaped treats. My husband was especially excited to see large screen televisions showing ESPN. I was excited to see there was a kids table filled with crayons and Disney pictures for the girls. They were in heaven!
If you’re looking for a playground – you are in luck! My girls love playgrounds and I love them because it’s a great place for me to relax. The All-Star Sports Resort playground is tucked in between buildings, shaded and a great hideaway spot.
I’m excited to stay in this resort again next month. In typical Disney style, it’s incredibly family-friendly and affordable for all budgets. From the ease of check-in, to the warm hospitality of cast members – we felt right at home. On our next visit, I’m hoping to stay in the Surf’s Up section – closest to the pool!
Have you stayed at the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort? What did you think of it?
** We paid for our own accommodations at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. We enjoyed our stay so much, I wanted to share it with you. Thoughts and opinions here are 100% my own and not influenced by others. **

The All-Star Resorts are great. We’ve stayed at all three and I happen to like Sports best because it’s the first bus stop between the three resorts. It’s nice to be able to grab a seat right away!
Carrie with Children
I’ve never thought about that – you are right! It is the first stop! We usually just drive to the resorts (since parking is free with the resort stay) and skip the buses!
Great point, Ashley!

This looks like a lot of fun. I think the kids would really enjoy it. I also love the towel!
Carrie with Children
The Mickey towel is my favorite part of walking into a Disney room! Such a nice welcome!

I think my boys would enjoy the sports theme.

We usually stay at the All Stars Resorts when we stay on the Disney property, it’s the least expensive of all of them. 🙂

We were supposed to stay at All Star Sports in April/May. The deal we got was amazing and we heard that you and others had enjoyed it so much. When I made our reservations, I asked multiple times if there were any groups staying at the resort at the time (something they will tell you). I knew there was a competition at ESPN and they typically stay there. I was told they were leaving the day we arrived.
When we arrived at the resort it was a mess. Trash was all over the place. I had never in 30 years of traveling to Walt Disney World and their resorts seen this in my life. Swarms of young students and parents were everywhere. It should be noted that I do not blame Disney for this experience, they can not control the behavior of their guests and certainly appeared to be trying to keep up with the mess they were making. I also know this group had quite a reputation for incidents in the parks as well.
I went to the front desk to see when they were checking out because our room was very close to the noise/pool. I was told the next day. We went to the park, had an incident on the bus, and I arrived at Hollywood Studios in tears. Later in the evening my parents returned to the resort before us. I received a call NOT to go back with the boys. There were some big problems and my parents were in a huge line of people trying to move their rooms and/or resorts.
When I went to retrieve my things, I talked with the amazing manager of All Star Sports. She was so sweet and I felt sorry for what she was dealing with. She told me that they are trying to make it so families are not at these resorts when sporting conferences are housed there. I told her I specifically asked about that, but was given the wrong information multiple times. We love Pop Century and would certainly stay there again or the Little Mermaid rooms at the gorgeous Art of Animation Resort, but I do think this may have ruined The All Star Resorts for us.

I’m so sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, Beth. It doesn’t sound like it was an enjoyable trip for you and your family.
Beth @ TheAngelForever
Actually it was an amazing and very magical trip. There was no way that we were going to let something like this ruin our vacation 🙂 Just something to be aware of at this resort and non-Disney locations when there are events going on.

We have never stayed at the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort but it sounds like a fun place (assuming you don’t end up with a not fun story like Beth).
Carrie with Children
We had no troubles while we were there – loved it! Sad to see Beth had a different experience! 🙁
Hanan
Man, I wish we were closer to Disney!
Carrie with Children
I wish you were too!
Mindi
I stayed at the All Star Hotel in high school on our big marching band trip. We raised money for three years for the trip, so it was a pretty exciting senior year for me. Our big band from Maine flew to Florida and got to experience marching in the Citrus Bowl Parade and the Disney Lights Spectacular parade. It was a fun trip but I don’t remember much about the hotel other than the great huge mugs we got for all the soda refills you could ever want during your stay. Ah the things that excite you as a kid! 🙂
Carrie with Children
Oh Mindi, that sounds like a great trip! What a wonderful experience! I love those big mugs – they are handy for my caffeine addiction! 🙂

What an amazing looking place! My kids would love staying here. It just looks like so much fun all the time!
Carrie with Children
This resort is so fun – there’s always something fun to do there… and that’s not even counting the parks!
Tee
My dd would love it here!! Wish there was a hotel like that in Anaheim!
Carrie with Children
I can’t believe Anaheim doesn’t have something like this resort! Come visit us here in Florida! 🙂
Tee
I’m planning on it! =)
