Five Question Friday – July 6

by Carrie with Children with 3 comments

I’ve been looking forward to today for weeks… we are going out on a real date tonight to my favorite restaurant. Besides that, it should be a quiet weekend here. What are your plans for the weekend?

Let’s get to the questions..be sure and share your answers below!

Just a reminder, I’m linking up with others for Five Question Friday and I don’t make up the questions. Click on the button above to see a linky list of others also participating.

Is love at first sight possible?   Sure. I guess it is possible… likely, not so much.

How did you choose your pet’s name? We got Penny the pup when she was about three months old. It took us awhile to come up with a good name.  Her fur is orange/copper colored and it reminded me of the color of a penny.  So, we settled on the name Penny!  I’ve had Jack the cat longer than I’ve known my husband.  I brought Jack home from the local shelter, the day after my beloved NFL Jacksonville Jaguars named Jack Del Rio as our new coach…  so I named my kitty after the new coach!

What are you considering giving up (cable/home phone, etc)?   I would love to get rid of my home phone and strictly have my cell phone be my only phone.  I rarely give out my home phone number and really the only time it ever rings is when it’s someone selling something.  If only I could convince my husband to get rid of it!

How much do you pay your babysitter?   Um… babysitter?!  We don’t have a babysitter.  My mother-in-law and my parents are the only people that have ever kept my girls for us.  We usually pay them with “to-go” dessert from wherever we end up eating dinner.  We usually pay for their meals while we are gone too.

How “young” is old enough to babysit?   I think it depends on the maturity level of the child babysitting and the ages of the children they are watching too.  I would say 12 is probably a good number, but it really depends on the situation to me.

Hope you have a great date night!

We got rid of our home phone a few years ago and haven’t regretted it yet! We could never give up on our DirectTV though!

We got our lab Zoey when she was 3 months old too and she went a few days without a name. I had to google girl dog names and came across that one – we both loved it!

Our parents usually baby-sit too but I have had my 17 yo cousin watch him a few times and I pay her $8 an hour.

Aw, I love the name Zoey! Perfect name for a pup! I don’t think my hubby will ever let us get rid of our DirectTV either! 🙂

I am a babysitting Grammy and this week I have been called upon by both families to take of the darling grandchildren – The Joys of my life.
