Penny, the orange beagle became a part of our family when she was only six weeks old…. and Maggie was only six months old. (There was never a calm moment at my house.) Needless to say, Maggie and Penny have literally grown up together. It’s been wonderful to see their bond grow over the last three years.
And when Molly was born, Penny formed a bond with her just as she did with Maggie. As the “middle sister”, Penny loves playing with the girls. Whether it’s Maggie tucking Penny in for her nap or Molly trying to go for a ride *on* Penny – she puts up with a lot! With that said, she is a loving, gentle and caring dog. I know she loves our girls!
I’ll never forget the night at dinner when Maggie proclaimed, “Mom – Penny is my very best friend.” My heart melted hearing her say those words. My girls have learned to respect and love all animals… because of Penny and the affection she has toward Maggie and Molly.
I love having Penny a part of our family. She’s a great dog with good manners (most of the time) and the love and kindness she has for my girls is astonishing.

As much as I dislike having a dog, because I don’t really want to take care of one, Charlie is so very good with the girls!! I guess I am thankful we have a great dog at least.
Carrie with Children
I was hesitant before we got Penny, but now I can’t imagine our house without her! I’m thankful to have a dog that loves my girls

I feel the same about our Ripley. I was so worried we added Ripley to our family a year before I found out I was pregnant with C I was so worried he would not like a new baby but just the opposite. It was like he immediately new this tiny person is ours to protect and for me to love. They are best pals.
Carrie with Children
I love that your little one and Ripley have bonded so well. Aren’t dogs just the coolest pets?!
Samantha @ A Little Simplicity
Penny looks so sweet is the middle sister! I was the only child for 13 years so I understand how your pets can be like their siblings.
Carrie with Children
Our Penny is definitely considered a sibling to our girls. I love watching them interact with one another. Thanks for reading, Samantha!
Kerri
