Views from The High Line in New York City #nyc

While in New York City a few weeks ago for BlogHer’12, I was able to spend time with an old friend who now lives in New York City.  When I told him I wanted to see the non-touristy side of the city – he said I needed to visit the High Line.

Located on the city’s West Side, the High Line is an elevated public park built on an historic freight rail line above the city streets. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues…. and it’s a must see if you visit New York City.

Here are some sights from my visit –

High Line Park New York City 2

The High Line was a fantastic place to explore the quiet side of New York. I loved that there were local vendors there too – tons of beautiful, handmade jewelry and crafts available for sale.  I’m adding this park to my “must see” list for trips to the big city.
