Every six weeks, I write a guest column for my local newspaper, the Florida Times-Union.  I love having the freedom to write about topics that are important to me and I especially love sharing stories about my journey as a special needs mom.

Last week’s blog post about preferred language and Down syndrome served as a great inspiration for me with this month’s column.  I expanded on the topic, but also shared more about our journey through the world of special needs.
