Planning a Florida Family Vacation? I’m Your Insider! #traveltuesday

Before my girls were born, I had a career in the travel industry – a career that involved promoting great destinations and activities for families.

I wouldn’t trade staying at home with my girls for anything in the world. I was recently approached with a fantastic new opportunity that would allow me to continue to be at home, but also fulfill my love of travel. I’m thrilled to tell you about my latest adventure… I am the new VISIT FLORIDA Family Insider!

I’ll be working with the state’s tourism department sharing my adventures and thoughts about family travel throughout my native Florida. I’ll be taking a trip once a month to explore a “new to me” Florida destination, filming video blogs and experience the Florida lifestyle to share with those planning trips to our beautiful state.

This is perfect timing! We are heard that way this summer because Graham really wants to visit his granddaddy. We thought we would like to find a quiet and unique place on the gulf coast. Any ideas??

Yay! I’m excited you are headed to Florida this summer – how fun! I really love Anna Maria Island on the Gulf Coast – beautiful beaches and laidback. Perfect for families.

What a wonderful job to have! Good luck. I am right on the Florida/Georgia line in Valdosta, so we love getting away to Florida. I can’t wait to see where you travel.

Hi Carrie, my daughter has been granted a Make A Wish trip. She has Leukemia and is nearly 4 years old. Her Wish is to see baby sea turtles hatching. I saw your comments regarding the turtle release from a Conservation and Rehabilitation place on the Visit Florida site. Ideally seeing them in the daytime scampering to the water beats waiting on a night hatch that may or may not happen…We are looking for a local’s perspective on a quant and hidden gem of a place to stay and visit. We are not theme park folks but enjoy the natural world, shelling and sight seeing wild creatures. Got any insider ideas for us?
