When I traveled to California last month for the premiere of Oz The Great and Powerful, never did I imagine that I would also be treated like a movie star. But that’s exactly what happened at the luxurious Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.
With only 380 guest rooms, the Langham Huntington was ranked #1 hotel in Los Angeles by U.S. News & World Report and one of the 500 World’s Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure. It’s an absolutely breathtaking hotel!
There’s no shame in my game, I loved wearing the bathrobe and the turn-down service each night before bed. A complimentary newspaper, an iHome alarm clock – perfect for charging my iPhone and 24-hour room service, which I happily took advantage of too!
Plus, since I was there on Valentine’s Day, housekeeping was even kind enough to leave me a Valentine’s cookie. Attention to detail and personal touches made me feel at home.
My room overlooked the Horseshoe Garden, created between 1911-1914 – it was once home to a miniature golf course and has served as a garden for parties and weddings for over 100 years. It was even the site for ABC’s The Bachelorette Ashley & J.P.’s wedding!
While I was there, the Horseshoe Garden was home to the Oz The Great and Powerful balloon – I loved waking up to this each morning out my window. Check out the view from my room –
For dinner one night during my stay, I checked out The Tap Room. The night we were there, they had a great jazz band playing music – a perfect place to unwind after a long day. You won’t go wrong with a glass of wine and their Lobster Mac & Cheese. Delicious!
And while I didn’t have my girls with me on this trip, I was happy to hear about the property’s Langham Huntington Kids Program. For a small fee, kids ages 12 and under receive a Langham “Theodore” teddy bear back pack, coloring book with crayons, a fun kids newsletter and a Langham chocolate bar. The Huntington Spa even has “Mommy & Me” manicures and pedicures for an additional cost. Sounds like fun to me!
