Between my role as the VISIT FLORIDA Family Insider, our spur of the moment trips to Disney World and everyday travel – my girls have quickly become semi-pro travelers. That isn’t to say that traveling with toddlers is easy – it’s not always easy, but it’s always an adventure.
The one thing that my girls never leave home without when traveling? Their toddler-sized suitcases. Besides being super cute, it’s teaching them responsibility and I even let them help pack their clothes too.
When I’m juggling bags and suitcases in and out of the car, my girls get to be in charge of their suitcases and they feel like they are helping! Depending on how long we’ll be away from home, we can usually fit all their clothes into their own bag. They take their ‘job’ very seriously too.
Santa Claus brought the girls their own luggage a few years ago – the butterfly rolling butterfly suitcase and the ladybug rolling suitcase are just too cute!
I love seeing the smiles from travelers when my girls walk in with their own luggage. And call me crazy, but I think being in charge of their luggage while traveling helps with their manners too. They want to be “cool” like everyone else rolling luggage – so they tend to act better too.
Do your kids have luggage?
