Travel Tips: A Rookie’s Guide to Las Vegas #marriottvacay

The city at the top of my travel ‘bucket list’ is Las Vegas.  The lights, the shopping, the shows and of course the casinos too!

I’ve been dreaming of  going there since I was a kid. I’ve always wanted to see the big shows in Las Vegas – the past few years I was hoping to get there to see Garth Brooks. Another one of the big shows I want to see is Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE. From what I’ve seen online, it just looks incredible!

And I’m not much of a shopper, but I do love window shopping.  I’d love to stroll along Fremont Street and see the sights – I’ve heard there are even roller coasters on the Las Vegas strip – how crazy is that?! Never a dull moment!

I’m hoping that 2014 will be my year to visit Las Vegas and when I get there I will definitely be on a tight budget. Check out these tips from Marriott on how to see Las Vegas on the cheap.  I learned a few things from them and I bet you will too.

And the more money I save on planning my trip, the more I can spend on seeing some more great shows.  When I finally make it to Las Vegas (hopefully soon), I’ll be looking to stay at a Marriott property, they typically have affordable rates. There are over 3,800 properties in over 74 countries and territories around the world.

For now, I’ll continue to daydream about the Vegas lights… and winning big in the casino.

Have you ever traveled to Las Vegas? Have any tips?

Las Vegas is a great place to visit! It stays open 24/7 – you can spend as much or as little as you want! However, I lived there for 12 years – and do NOT recommend it as a place to live. Especially if you have kids – it has one of the highest HS drop-out rates in the USA. Plus, it is a major drug center, especially for meth. Go on vacation, have a great time – but don’t make the mistake I did and move there!

I’ve actually never been to LV. I would love to visit one day though!! I have to disagree with the other commentator though. I have several friends (with kids) that live there with no complaints, and have been told living there is a lot different then visiting.

I had no idea there were circus acts! That sounds like fun!

We used to live in LV and are going back to visit family for the holidays. Can’t wait!

Vegas baby! My parents have been wanting to go there for quite some time. Hopefully one christmas we can gift the experience to them.
