Yesterday, my girls (finally) went back to school from their winter break. And I won’t lie – I was just as excited as they were when we got to school.
We had a fantastic few weeks at home gearing up for Christmas and then after the holidays, we hit the road to visit LEGOLAND Florida and make a pit stop at Disney World for a few days. It was a week long adventure filled with staying up past bedtime and getting spoiled with all things princess at the parks.
We made lifetime memories on our trip and laughed too much. As we started our drive home on Tuesday morning, I was just as excited to get home as I was to start our trip just a few days before that.
It’s not that I don’t love spending time with my girls – the time I have with them is fantastic and always an adventure. I’m just a mom that craves a routine and some time of order among the chaos of life with two toddlers. Making lunches, running errands, doing laundry and family dinners around the table – that’s what I need most right now.
So now, it’s ‘back to life’, preparing school lunches, catching up on the laundry and playing with my girls. It’s no Disney World or traveling adventure, but it’s home… and it’s just the way I like it. Even, if it does mean I have to wake up at 7:15 a.m.
