It’s a week of excitement and transition at our house. Maggie started soccer this week and Dad is the team coach! I’m still learning my way around soccer, but my husband played for years as a kid, we are excited to support Maggie in her first season with team sports!

Now, here’s where the curve ball comes into play – practices are twice a week at 6:30pm, right in the middle of our  normal dinnertime. As a mom that craves routine, this has really thrown me for a  loop when it comes to planning dinner and getting everyone to bed at a decent hour.

And this week’s savior? Papa Murphy’s! This neighborhood take ‘n’ bake pizza shop has been a favorite in our family for quite awhile now and this week their new pan pizza became my go-to spot for a easy (and hot) dinner before soccer practice.

While the girls were at school and I was out running errands, I stopped by Papa Murphy’s and picked up a pre-made, pan pizza with pepperoni and ham (my favorite toppings) and a S’mores dessert pizza. Later that afternoon, when it was time to get dinner on the table – I popped the pizza in the oven and baked it! Ten minutes later, dinner was on the table!

I was glad my soccer player and coach could have a quick and easy hot meal before practice. The pan pizza has a buttery crust and I found myself going back to the pan to dip my crust in the oils – really tasty.

When everyone returned home from practice – we gathered around the table to enjoy our S’mores pizza and talked about everything that happened at practice. There’s nothing better than sitting around the table with a good meal in front of you.

I think we’ve just created a new tradition in our house – Papa Murphy’s pizza once a week for soccer nights. It’s easy to make, tasty to eat and affordable too. It’s great food for my growing soccer player!
