What I Saw This Weekend: Maggie’s First Soccer Game!

We’ve been practicing for a few weeks now, but due to weather and scheduling Maggie’s soccer games kept getting postponed. However, that all changed this past weekend – Maggie finally had a game!

Maggie's First Soccer Game
She had a fantastic time playing with her new friends. As a ‘six and under’ team, there are eleven kids and only three have actually played before this season. So, you can imagine the shenanigans that take place.

Running the wrong direction, kicking into the wrong goal and on and on. One little guy’s shoe fell off three times during the game. It was an adventure to say the least!

With Dad as her coach, Maggie said having a turn playing the goalie position was her favorite. The lime green jersey set aside for the goalie was HUGE, but that didn’t stop her. I just loved that she insisted on wearing “sweaters” on her wrists.  (More commonly known as wristbands.)

Our first game was an adventure and honestly, I’m not even sure which team won the game. The most important thing to us is that she had fun, she learned how to be a good teammate and she got some good exercise too.

So here’s to our very first season of soccer. I can’t wait to see how it goes and I’ll keep you updated too!

Does your little one play soccer?

How cute! My son (he’s 6) is playing soccer for his first time too. It is hilarious! I especially loved when they told the kids to dribble around the field and he picked it up to dribble like a basketball. 🙂 BTW I found you by way of the Ultimate Blog Party.

Thanks for stopping by from UBP!
