Last Thursday, I attended the unveiling for Carnival Cruise Lines newest ship coming in 2016 – the Carnival Vista. And if you heard a lot of cheering that day, it was just me squealing with excitement about this new ship.
Here’s a look at why families are going to love the new Carnival Vista –
Family Harbor Staterooms
The new Family Harbor staterooms feature more room for families with accommodations for five with deluxe, ocean view and interior options. And just look at the decor – so nautical, I just love it.
The exclusive Family Harbor Lounge offers families a place to make even more memories. With a special family concierge desk, large screen televisions, board games, complimentary breakfast and around the clock snacks – there will also be scheduled activities for families to have fun together.
A European Vacation
If you’ve ever wanted to cruise through Europe, here’s your chance! The new Carnival Vista debuts on May 1, 2016 with a 13-day cruise departing from Trieste, Italy. There will be numerous itineraries will be with port calls throughout Italy, France, Spain, Croatia and Turkey.
On October 21, 2016, Carnival Vista will embark on a special 13-day transatlantic crossing and arrive in New York November 3, 2016, then operate a series of voyages from the Big Apple. (Doesn’t a transatlantic sailing sound amazing?!)
Adventures at Sea
SportsSquare is one of my family’s favorite spots to hang out on Carnival ships, so I was thrilled to hear that the area will be expanded on Carnival Vista. The Clubhouse will feature mini-bowling, ping-pong, arcade basketball and plenty of sports video gaming.
The showpiece of the new SportsSquare is the SkyRide. This aerial, pedal-powered attraction features an 800-foot suspended track with panoramic views from 150 feet above the sea. Climb aboard the bike-like contraptions and buckle up as you can either race family members or leisurely take in the views.
Ride the Kaleid-O-Slide
With the largest WaterWorks park in the fleet, the fun expands with the addition of the Kaleid-O-Slide! The 455-foot slide takes riders on twists and turns as Carnival’s first water tube attraction. I know my kiddos are ready for the fun – and with the ability to ride two at a time, looks like this mama can ride too!
Dr. Seuss is On The Loose
We are huge fans of Dr. Seuss and love participating in the onboard Seuss at Sea programming – especially the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast. The Carnival Vista will be home to the fleet’s second Dr. Seuss Bookville – a whimsical area for families filled with Dr. Seuss books, board games and puzzles. We spent time each day at Bookville reading and relaxing – it’s a great spot for a little downtime, plus it’s fun too!
First-ever IMAX® Theatre On A Ship
The Carnival Vista will be home to the very first IMAX Theatre on the seas. The three-decks high screen will feature new release films, even day-of releases seen at theatres on the mainland.
Next door, the Thrill Theatre offers movie-goers a special effects experience with family-favorite films. And of course, there will be plenty of popcorn and snacks too!
Meet the Carnival Vista
Here’s a look inside the Carnival Vista and all of the new additions. And, be on the lookout for a cameo by Molly with the Cat In The Hat!
