At the beginning of 2014, I wrote out my wish list for the year. Some things were practical (more sleep, eat better) and some that were just fun (see Garth Brooks in concert, more date nights, etc.) There was one that straddled the line of practical and fun – take an overnight trip to Walt Disney World. I wanted to recharge my internal batteries, but also have a mini-vacation in my favorite place.
Last week, I finally crossed that item off my wish list – I spent two days at Walt Disney World all by myself – and it was fantastic! After visiting the parks my entire life, I did things on this trip that I’d never even done before!

I ventured into stores that I had never visited, when I’m with family I’m lucky if I make it in one store. So discovering the Christmas shop in Liberty Square and watching candy apples being made at the Big Top Souvenirs store was a real treat for me.
From sitting in my favorite spot to see the Festival of Fantasy parade and watching the Dapper Dans perform on Main Street U.S.A, I loved discovering the ‘little’ things at the Magic Kingdom.

For the first time (probably ever), I toured Paris and declared it my new favorite place in Epcot. For dessert, I treated myself to a cronut, a cross between a donut and a croissant – life changing! Rolled in cinammon and sugar – it was the perfect dessert and I’m already wishing I had bought a few extras to take home.

Have you taken a solo trip to Walt Disney World?
** This was not a sponsored trip. I paid for everything on my own… with the help of my Christmas gift cards and Santa Claus. **
