With the winter months quickly approaching, I want to soak up as much sun as possible before it got “cold” here in Florida.

This past Monday,  the girls and I set out on a great adventure… to the Jacksonville Zoo!

Maggie was so excited to see the giraffes and the penguins!  (However, she kept asking to see the T-Rex.)  I loved watching Molly discover all of the animals.  I knew she was excited because she kept pointing and clapping at all the animals!

We checked out the flamingos and the elephants too.  Maggie loved introducing me to them,  “Hello Mr. Elephant, it’s me…Maggie!  This is my friend Molly and my friend Mama.”  Such a silly, yet friendly girl.

I think our favorite spot at the zoo (at least on this trip) was the penguin exhibit!  They have a place where kids (and adults too) can crouch down and peek at the penguins swimming!

Maggie giggled with excitement each time a penguin would go swimming by overhead.  I think I see a trip to Sea World Orlando in our future very soon.  She hasn’t stopped talking about those penguins!

Near the end of our visit, I asked if anyone was ready to go home…and Maggie yelled, “me, me!” and Molly just laid her head down on the stroller tray.  My job there was done – I had officially worn out my children!   They were practically asleep before I even got out of the parking lot!

I’m hoping that we can fit one more trip to the zoo before the rush of the holidays takes over.   I’ll keep you posted if we see any T-Rex!
