What I Saw This Weekend: Shorts in January!

by Carrie with Children with 6 comments

What’s the weather like where you live?   For us, here in Florida – it was HOT this weekend. At one point on Saturday, I noticed our thermometer said 84 degrees!  Craziness for January!

So, thanks to the great weather – we spent a lot of time outside this past weekend. Slides, riding bikes and just having fun!  Maggie was especially excited to play hopscotch… and Molly enjoyed jumping along too.

The girls had such a great weekend playing outside.  I loved watching them play with eachother – there was a lot of smiles and giggles going on in my front yard. And with all the fun times we had outside, they both slept really well each night too!  Win/win for everyone!

I’m really hoping that this warm weather isn’t just a phase – I would hate to have to get our winter jackets back out of the closet.  No fun being spoiled wearing shorts and then have the cold come back to visit us again.

What did you see this weekend?

I saw lots of cold and frost! My girls just stayed inside because it was so cold. Jealous of your 84 degree weather!

Boo! 🙁 So sorry you were inside all weekend. Sadly, I don’t think it will be 84 degrees around here much longer – winter is coming again soon.

Cute pictures! It looks like the girls enjoyed playing outside in the sunshine.

We were in shorts too over the weekend. In fact, Bryce came in from playing outside yesterday because he was too hot. LOL I go back and forth as to whether or not I am enjoying our warm “winter” weather. On one hand, it is nice to be able to play outside without shivering, but on the other hand, I have all of these cute long sleeved tops and boots that I want to wear! Plus, the pollen counts are ridiculously high here, so my kids end up with allergy flare ups that lead to respiratory crud. I think I would like to see just a few weeks of cold weather. 🙂

They had a great time soaking up the sun 🙂

Maggie asked to come inside today because she was too hot! Ha! The pollen count here is terrible too – poor Molly has been a snotty mess the last week or two. Not fun!
