Froot Loops at Disney World…And Other Myths

by Carrie with Children with 14 comments

You can only buy Froot Loops at Walt Disney World and you can only wear your princess dress at Walt Disney World if it’s your birthday.

Now, before you read any farther… both of the above statements are FALSE.  However, in my family they are truths.

Fruit Loops at Disney

That’s right, my girls think the only place you can eat Froot Loops for breakfast is at Disney World and Maggie is ecstatic for her upcoming birthday as it will finally be her turn to wear her princess dress to the parks.  She’s been asking about it for months!

Nothing makes me smile more than seeing a girl in a princess dress and having Maggie yell “Happy Birthday” to the princess.  We always get the funniest looks! And when it’s finally Maggie’s birthday in November, she’ll be the happiest girl in the park because it’s finally her time to wear her dress.  It’s going to be a special day.  I’ll be sure to share pictures.

And I can’t help but laugh when we go to character breakfasts at the parks – I can never decide if they are more excited about seeing their character friends or the Froot Loops.  (Note to self:  Just give them Froot Loops for breakfast and skip the pricey meal.)

Disney's Magic Kingdom Cinderella's Castle

Lying to my kids? Maybe. But every family has stories they tell their children.  Not every family has the opportunity to go to Disney World every month like we do, we always strive for our trips to be special, besides all of the usual fun. Froot Loops at Disney World is splurging… at least in my kids eyes!

Our girls may not get a souvenir on every visit to the parks.  But, they sure do get Froot Loops… and they couldn’t be more excited about it!

Sometimes, it’s truly about the little things in life…  like Froot Loops and princess dresses.

What are some of your family’s myths?

Okay, this made me chuckle! I always love seeing full princess wear at the grocery store or where ever a “true,” princess wants to wear a crown and fluffy dress! I will have to tell my boys about saying happy birthday at Disney, if we see a little girl in a princess dress, as they will think its true! (What they don’t know wont hurt them!)

Yes! Be sure and tell all those princesses ‘Happy birthday’ when you see them! I bet you’ll get funny looks just like we do! 🙂

This is so so cute! I wish we had little things like this. I tried telling them that the ice cream man only plays music when he’s out of ice cream…but they didn’t fall for it! If/When we finally make it to Disney World, I know they will be wearing their princess dresses though!

Ha! I like the ice cream man idea, I may have to borrow that one from you! 🙂

    I love your little myths!

I call food different things to get K to try them first. Like sweet potatoes are orange marshmallows. Nothing wrong with reserving things as a special treat especially if you live and go there a lot!

Oh, I do that same thing! Popcorn shrimp = special chicken. BBQ sauce = special ketchup. Ha! My girls always gobble it right up! I feel another blog post in the making here…

Love it! I should make up special lies like that!!

I love these! In September Caelyn gets her turn to be a princess at Disney. I too call foods different things to get the kids to try it and sometimes their names stick. For example my girls eat Miso soup with tofu but at some point Chloe called it cheese and it has been cheese ever since. We got Caelyn to eat it cause she thought it was really cheese. Now they love it.

Ha! That’s too funny. I love it! That’s really great that the enjoy eating it – yay cheese!
