Recipe: Baked Crab Rangoons

My husband and I have an annual tradition of always staying home on New Year’s Eve and making our favorite foods to ring in the New Year.  It usually involves crab legs, twice baked potatoes and a few appetizers.

This year, I’m kicking things up a notch with Baked Crab Rangoons.  I crave these tasty treats about once a week, so I decided it was time to try and make them on my own.

Baked Crab Rangoon Recipe

This recipe is so easy They are so simple to make, that even my friends thought they were store-bought – promise! I hope you enjoy these just as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 14 wonton wrappers
  • 1 small green onion, finely chopped
  • 4 oz imitation crabmeat (lump crabmeat works well too)
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • Serve with sweet and sour sauce or Thai chili sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, Combine cream cheese, garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  2. Gently stir in crab and onion.
  3. Place approx two teaspoonfuls in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  4. Moisten edges of wrapper with water; bring corners to center and press the edges together to seal.
  5. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  6. Lightly spray wontons with nonstick cooking spray.
  7. Bake at 425degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce of Thai chili sauce.

Great appetizer for New Year's Eve and other holidays.
